The Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA) programme of the Department of business administration, College of management science, BELLS University of Technology, Ota, commenced in 2014/20151999 session with the overriding goal of meeting the ever-increasing demand and yearnings of the industrial sector for highly skilled manpower at the top management level. The programme is aimed at producing new managers and equipping existing ones with appropriate skills for solving day today business management problems, more precisely and effectively, through the application of modern Business management techniques. The Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA) programme is designed to prepare young graduates and other qualified interested individuals in the society for higher degrees in Business Administration, such as Master’s degree in Business Administration, and subsequently, a Doctorate degree in Business Administration, if they so desire. The acquisition of a higher degree in Business Administration, which is a very versatile course of study, is important as there are diverse employment opportunities in almost all the sectors in the economy.  The successful graduates may also choose to launch their own businesses and become entrepreneurs.

ASSESSMENT OF STUDENT

In the PGDBA assessment of student’s achievements shall be based on Examinations, Term papers, Seminar Presentations, Assignments, Group Project Work and PGDBA Project.

CONTINUOUS ASSESSMENT AND EXAMINATIONS

Final marks for each course shall be made up of 30% in Continuous Assessment (CA) done through test, assignment, seminars, quizzes and term papers and 70% in examination except the research project whose score is based on 100%.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE AWARD OF THE DEGREE

To be eligible for the award of PGDBA, a candidate must offer and pass a total of 39 units comprising 33 units of compulsory courses, 6 units of research projects.
